Vernon Dell Tractor Sales in Eighty Four, PA., is looking for an experienced Mechanic to work on Outdoor Power Equipment – lawn & garden equipment – tractors, mowers, compact utility tractors, light duty construction equipment, agricultural tractors and agricultural equipment. Individual should be reliable, responsible and trustworthy, and have past experience working in a dealership environment. This is a Full time position. We do not hire seasonal employees. We stay busy year round and are looking for a technician who is interested in growing with us long term. Full Time positions qualify for full benefits: Medical, Disability, paid holidays and more.

Job Function:

Independently performs basic/complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealership owned outdoor power equipment.

Responsibilities

Performs basic/complex outdoor power equipment diagnostics and determines what repairs are needed.

Performs basic/complex outdoor power equipment repairs as requested by the Service Manager.

Participates in all job-related training and development.

Prepares shop tickets and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.

Maintains current product knowledge of New Holland, Toro, Stihl and competitive products.

Performs pre-delivery set-up and inspection on new equipment as required.

Maintains a clean and safe working environment and performs job duties with a good attitude.

Requirements

Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment.

Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Experience in related field

Skilled in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Must be computer literate.

Valid driver’s license required.

Possess good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. and work bent-over repeatedly.

Duties will include set-up & prep of new machinery, troubleshooting and repair of equipment including lawn and garden, farm tractors, compact tractors, hay & forage equipment, material handling equipment, and light duty construction equipment. Some travel for road repairs may be required.

Must have clean Driver's License & basic tools. Minimum of 2 years mechanical experience and/or equivalent education in related field. Basic computer skills necessary. Prior experience in an agricultural industry a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
