The Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center is a specialty practice comprised of board certified and residency trained doctors, licensed veterinary technicians, and support teams who are highly trained in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Neurology, Physical Rehabilitation, and Emergency and Critical Care. We are a dedicated group of professionals committed to providing the best medical care to the patients of our community! We understand the value of teamwork and comradery! About the job: The primary role of the Veterinary Technician is to provide excellent care to the patients of Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center, as well as assist the veterinarian other medical staff, and upkeep of facility and equipment.
How you'll make a difference
- Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Assistant
- Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
- Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity based on position
- Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
- Provide diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients
- Properly use and maintain medical equipment
- Provide professional client communication
- Helps keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Maintains client and patient confidentiality
- Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivity
- Meet or exceed LVVSC expectations for attendance and punctuality
- Act as an ambassador of LVVSC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
- Other duties vary based on role and department
What you will bring
- At least 3 years of recent veterinary experience in a veterinary practice with increasing responsibilities is preferred.
- Confident with all aspects of anesthesia monitoring
- Strong in and a willingness to provide client education and communication
- Proficient medical math skills (drug and fluid calculations)
- Attention to detail
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of endoscopy procedures, equipment, and care a plus!
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:00am - 5:30pm
Salary: $18.00 - $22.00/hr, depends on experience
