GCP Cloud Solution Architect

Job Description-

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and innovative Senior Cloud Solution Architect – GCP to join a leading enterprise technology environment. In this role, you will lead the creation of cloud adoption strategies covering portfolio transformation approaches, platform architecture, and operational strategy while collaborating closely with business consultants and domain specialists.

Required Qualifications

• Candidate must be located within commuting distance or willing to relocate to Richardson, TX; Houston, TX; Raleigh, NC; Hartford, CT; Indianapolis, IN; or Tempe, AZ. This position may require travel within the U.S.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution. Three years of progressive experience in the specialty may be considered in lieu of each year of education.
• 11+ years of Information Technology experience.
• GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification required.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in cloud architecture with a focus on GCP, including infrastructure, applications, and data solutions.
• 10+ years of experience in IT consulting, architecture, design, development, and operations of enterprise applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to design scalable and pragmatic solutions addressing current challenges and enabling future growth.
• Lead the development of GCP cloud adoption strategies, including portfolio transformation, platform architecture, and operational frameworks.
• Work closely with business consultants and domain experts to define and execute cloud transformation initiatives.
• Provide strategic guidance on GCP services selection, architecture patterns, and technology adoption.
• Develop and present end-to-end cloud adoption roadmaps covering conceptualization, implementation, and operationalization.
• Build compelling business cases for cloud transformation, leveraging TCO and ROI models for enterprise clients.
• Define target-state architecture and IT portfolio strategy aligned with business objectives and GCP best practices.
• Assess current environments and design transformation roadmaps to achieve future-state architecture.
• Establish technical standards and governance aligned with Google Cloud Well-Architected Framework.
• Evaluate emerging GCP technologies and ensure their effective integration into the enterprise ecosystem.
• Provide architecture leadership during implementation, ensuring alignment with standards and reference architecture.
• Mentor engineering teams on core GCP services, including:
• BigQuery
• Cloud Spanner
• GKE
• Pub/Sub
• Cloud Functions
• Cloud Storage
• IAM
• Security Command Center
• Promote modern engineering practices such as DevOps, SRE, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Work across custom-built, packaged, and data-centric applications in a technology-agnostic environment.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of enterprise IT architecture and business process optimization across industries.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in AWS or Azure demonstrating multi-cloud expertise.
• Experience with AI/ML services on GCP, such as Vertex AI and BigQuery ML.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (GKE), CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform.
• Knowledge of Anthos for hybrid/multi-cloud deployments.
• Experience with Security Command Center for security and compliance management.
• Demonstrated thought leadership through technical publications, blogs, conference speaking, or community contributions.
