Senior SAP Basis Expert & RISE Migration Governance Lead

Responsibilities

• This role will focus on managing, governing, and coordinating SAP RISE migrations, ensuring alignment across SAP, hyperscalers, system integrators, and internal Daimler Truck (DT) stakeholders.
• The ideal candidate brings deep SAP Basis expertise, proven RISE migration experience, and strong stakeholder and program management skills.
• 12–15 years of experience in SAP Basis, SAP infrastructure, and migration programs
• Experience operating in large, complex enterprise SAP landscapes
• Proven background supporting or governing SAP RISE migrations
• Strong experience working as an external consultant, advisor, or PMO lead
• SAP RISE Migrations & PMO / Governance (Primary Focus)
• SAP RISE Migration Governance
• Govern SAP RISE migration programs from planning through Hypercare.
• Ensure alignment to SAP RISE scope, shared responsibility model, and contractual boundaries.
• Track migration readiness, prerequisites, and dependency resolution.
• Program & PMO Responsibilities
• Establish program governance structures (status reporting, milestone tracking, decision forums).
• Coordinate migration timelines, dependencies, and deliverables across teams.
• Maintain Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies and ensure visibility to stakeholders.
• Governance & Consulting Skills
• Hands on experience supporting or governing SAP RISE migrations
• Strong vendor and partner coordination capabilities
• Experience operating within PMO frameworks
• Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
• Act as the central coordination point between:
• DT core SAP and IT teams
• SAP RISE delivery and operations teams
• Hyperscaler teams (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• System integrators and migration partners
• Ensure clear communication, accountability, and alignment across all parties.
• Technical Governance & Advisory Responsibilities
• Provide architectural and migration recommendations based on SAP RISE best practices and prior experience.
• Facilitate technical and migration decision discussions by ensuring complete information, risks, and options are presented.
• Support cross team alignment and conflict resolution by coordinating inputs from all stakeholders.
• Proactively identify, document, and escalate risks that may impact timelines, costs, or platform stability.
• Ensure decisions, actions, and outcomes are properly documented and tracked.
• Final technical, architectural, and financial decision remains with the DT core SAP and IT leadership.
• Cutover, Go Live & Hypercare Support
• Coordinate cutover planning, mock runs, and go live readiness activities.
• Ensure Hypercare models, escalation paths, and support responsibilities are clearly defined.
• Support post go live stabilization and lessons learned sessions.

Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Deep expertise in SAP Basis, SAP NetWeaver, ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager
• Strong understanding of SAP RISE operating model and cloud architecture
• Experience with Azure, AWS, SAP BTP, and hybrid SAP landscapes
• Solid knowledge of networking, cloud connectivity, VPNs, and enterprise security concepts
