Job Summary

The Telecom Engineer is responsible for installation, maintenance, and optimization of telecom infrastructure, including mobile towers, antennas, and network systems. The role ensures uninterrupted network connectivity, compliance with safety standards, and efficient performance of telecom equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tower & Site Management

• Supervise installation and commissioning of telecom towers (GBT, RTT, monopoles).
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility analysis for new tower locations.
• Ensure proper erection, alignment, and stability of towers.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for site development.

2. Network Installation & Maintenance

• Install and configure telecom equipment such as BTS, microwave antennas, routers, and RF units.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of network systems.
• Monitor network performance and ensure minimal downtime.
• Handle fiber optic cable (OFC) laying, splicing, and testing.

3. Troubleshooting & Optimization

• Diagnose and resolve network faults, signal issues, and hardware failures.
• Optimize network performance (signal strength, coverage, capacity).
• Conduct periodic audits and preventive maintenance.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all tower and site activities follow safety standards and guidelines.
• Maintain documentation related to installation, testing, and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory authorities and company policies.

5. Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with internal teams (NOC, RF, operations) and external vendors.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and technical documentation.
• Maintain inventory of telecom equipment and tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education

• Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or

related field.

Experience

• 2- 7 years of experience in telecom tower installation and network operations (preferred).

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of BTS, RF equipment, microwave links, and fiber optics.
• Understanding of telecom standards (2G/3G/4G/5G).
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and software.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and grounding.
