What We Look For In a Microsoft Power BI Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of Power BI data modeling, DAX formulas, data visualization, report design, dashboard creation, data transformation with Power Query, data source connections, and sharing and publishing workflows. Ability to explain star schema data modeling, measure calculation, and visual best practices while preparing students for business intelligence roles and data-driven decision-making careers.
• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching data import, transformation, modeling, and visualization in Power BI. Guides students through connecting to data sources, cleaning data with Power Query, building relational data models, creating DAX measures, designing interactive reports, and publishing dashboards. Emphasizes translating business questions into analytical visualizations and connects Power BI to corporate reporting, sales analytics, and operational monitoring.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Power BI training curricula and common challenges such as understanding data model relationships, writing DAX formulas, and designing effective visualizations. Adapts instruction using real business data sets, DAX calculation exercises, and dashboard design projects to support analysts and business professionals from Power BI beginners through advanced users pursuing Microsoft PL-300 certification.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
