Job Title: Welder – DRP Mechanical

Department: DRP Mechanical - Sponge iron Unit

Location: Siltara, Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Job Purpose:

To perform welding and fabrication activities in the DRP mechanical section, ensuring structural integrity, equipment reliability, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a sponge iron unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out arc welding, gas cutting, and fabrication work for DRP equipment and structures
• Perform maintenance welding of rotary kiln, cooler, ducts, ESP, conveyors, and structural components
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
• Execute preventive and breakdown maintenance welding jobs
• Ensure proper joint preparation, alignment, and finishing of welded parts
• Conduct repair and strengthening of worn-out components
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables in good condition
• Follow safety procedures, including use of PPE and hot work permits
• Assist fitters and mechanical team in shutdown and maintenance activities
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and minimize rework

Required Qualifications:

• ITI in Welder / Fabrication Trade (preferred)
• Certification in welding processes is an added advantage

Experience

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Sponge Iron / Steel Plant / Heavy Industry
• Hands-on experience in DRP or kiln-related welding work preferred

Key Skills:

• Proficiency in Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Cutting, and Fabrication
• Knowledge of industrial equipment repair welding
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
• Understanding of safety standards in steel plants
• Teamwork and coordination with maintenance crew

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹19,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
