Cash/Accounts Payable Accountant - Full Time

General Ledger Accounting Responsibilities

Assisting and overlooking year end and interim audit.

Preparing reports for the bank and ensuring compliance.

Daily bank reconciliation and maintenance for U.S. and Canadian bank accounts.

Monthly accounts reconciliations and Year end entries / reconciliations.

Ensuring intercompany accounts are reconciled monthly.

S State tax filings monthly.

Assisting users with onboarding in Concur where they can submit their credit card expenses.

Reviewing the journal entries prepared by junior accountant to ensure accuracy.

Training Junior Accountant.

ERP Implementation: Take ownership of GL/Costing areas of EPICOR.

Cost Accounting Responsibilities

Prepare monthly/weekly reports like backlog reports, labor hour reports, sales dashboards, inventory reports etc.

Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and reconciling discrepancies

Work closely with Senior Cost Accountant. Continuously learn and develop skills in accounting principles, techniques, and software applications.

Experience of at least 4-5 years of relevant accounting work, preferably in an industrial setting, specifically with general ledger accounting, financial analysis and costing.

University degree in accounting.

Actively working towards a professional accounting designation.

Advanced MS Excel skills – including pivots, macros and advanced formulas for analysis.

Experience with EPICOR is an asset.

Attitude of continuous improvement.
