Security Officer (Unit Chief)

You will perform the following duties:

• Manage U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) physical security and emergency operations programs.
• Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and plans governing NSF security and emergency programs, assess program security policies, and identify and implement improvements.
• Serve as the NSF authority regarding emergency planning, training, preparedness, response, and recovery programs.
• Review and evaluate local and national intelligence reports to ensure NSF's security plan activities are consistent with the nature of threats and current threat levels.
• Serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and prepare major contractor requirements.
• Serve as NSF representative to establish, coordinate, and integrate physical security and emergency response programs and activities with external organizations.

The selected candidate may be required to perform limited supervisory duties of a few staff members.
