Supply Chain Manager
Upstream Data is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Supply Chain Manager to oversee the end-to-end design and execution of our supply chain. This role integrates procurement inventory management and logistics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing operational efficiency minimizing the total cost of ownership and ensuring 100% material availability for production all while maintaining financial and procedural compliance within the industrial energy sector.
Develop and execute a long-term roadmap for ERP utilization to ensure real-time data integrity and actionable insights for executive decision-making.
Lead mentor and professionalize the Purchasing and Inventory teams; establish departmental KPIs and conduct formal performance evaluations.
Act as the final authority on procurement policies delegated authorization levels and the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Cultivate and manage long-term strategic partnerships with critical manufacturers of electrical mechanical and structural components.
Mitigate global supply chain risks through geographical diversification and robust contingency planning.
Lead high-stakes negotiations for Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects to secure favorable commercial terms.
Manage total annual procurement spend identifying and implementing cost-reduction initiatives that align with quality standards.
Direct working capital strategies effectively balancing Just-in-Time (JIT) efficiency with Just-in-Case (JIC) safety stock requirements.
Optimize inbound and outbound logistics overseeing international customs brokerage compliance and freight contract management (LTL/FTL).
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
Utilize LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and optimize warehouse and procurement workflows.
Ensure the supply chain remains fully transparent and compliant with internal audits tax regulations and Alberta OHS standards.
Experience: 8 years of progressive supply chain experience with a minimum of 3 years in a management role within an industrial manufacturing or energy-related sector.
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration or Engineering.
Designation: SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designation is strongly preferred.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience leading an ERP implementation or a major system optimization project.
Advanced negotiation skills and the ability to synthesize complex financial data into concise executive presentations.
Logistics Knowledge: Proven track record in managing cross-border deliveries and calculating/minimizing total landed costs.
Contract Management: Strong background in contract origination legal review and commercial negotiation.
Travel: Occasional travel to vendor sites or secondary locations may be required.
Physical/Aptitude: Ability to physically inspect company assets and property; manual dexterity required for standard office/computer work.
