Deliver specialized care for adolescents and young adults battling neuro-oncology conditions at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. This part-time nurse practitioner role focuses on patient-centered treatment and coordination across multiple institutions.
As a part-time Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive assessments and collaborate with neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, and supportive care teams. Your expertise in managing symptoms and treatment toxicities will be essential in ensuring optimal care. This position involves independent visits for treatment planning and participation in multidisciplinary treatment pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessments and prescribe therapies for AYA NeuroOncology patients
- Conduct collaborative visits and monitor treatment-related toxicities
- Manage acute complications and support palliative care integration
- Serve as liaison across collaborating hospitals and programs
- Participate in research initiatives and observational studies
Requirements
- Registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Master’s degree and experience in neuro-oncology preferred
- Five years of relevant nursing experience required
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Effective communication and organization skills required
