Job Description
We are seeking a Frontend Shopify Developer to lead a full site redesign using Liquid theme development. This is a complete rebuild of the storefront across all page types, not a minor refresh.
You will own the frontend implementation of the redesigned theme, including component structure and integration with third-party Shopify apps such as reviews and loyalty platforms.
This is not a Hydrogen or headless role. Deep, production-level Shopify Liquid and theme architecture experience is required.
Project Scope
- Full site redesign across all page types:
- Homepage
- Collection and product pages
- Content and marketing pages
- Cart, account, and ancillary pages
Custom Liquid theme development (no out-of-the-box themes)
Integration with third-party Shopify apps
Pixel-accurate implementation from provided designs
Responsibilities
Lead frontend development of a full Shopify site redesign using Liquid
Build a modular, maintainable Shopify theme from the ground up
Implement all page templates (homepage, PDP, PLP, content, cart, account)
Develop reusable sections and blocks using Online Store 2.0 architecture
Integrate and configure third-party Shopify apps
Ensure responsive, cross-browser compatibility
Collaborate with designers to deliver pixel-accurate builds from Figma
Maintain clean, well-documented Liquid, CSS, and JavaScript code
Support QA, performance optimization, and launch readiness
Requirements
2+ years of hands-on Shopify Liquid theme development experience
Strong experience with:
- Shopify Online Store 2.0 (sections, metafields, metaobjects)
- Custom section and block schema design
- Liquid templating, filters, and logic
- Shopify Ajax API and Cart API
- CSS and modern JavaScript
Experience building full Shopify storefronts end-to-end
Experience integrating third-party Shopify apps into custom themes
Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
Ability to accurately implement designs from Figma or similar tools
Preferred Experience
Shopify Plus experience (scripts, checkout customization, Flow)
Familiarity with review platforms (Okendo, Bazaarvoice, etc.)
Performance optimization (Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, image optimization)
Experience using Git in a collaborative environment
Experience working within structured design handoff processes
