UBSafe (part of the ROSS Global Family) is a rapidly growing safety system consulting and design firm specializing in machine safeguarding application across North America. Our engineering office is located in Langley, British Columbia. A secondary office is located in Kamloops, British Columbia. Third and fourth locations are opening in southwestern Ontario and Houston Texas.

Our projects and services are applied following a methodology that starts with consulting reports and education, following through to engineering design, installation support/technical direction, commissioning and ending in verification / validation of the completed system.

We work with a wide variety of industries and examine different machine processes to assess electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems against safeguarding design standards and methodologies. We further enhance the machine efficiency through application of technology.

We are currently searching for a full-time Electrical Engineering (EIT or PEng) to join our team. Management responsibilities are possible with the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Lead in development of:
  • Design/specification and detailed design of Control systems including panel layouts, loop drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • PLC / Safety PLC programming.
  • Assist with site assessment and field information gathering.
  • Preparation of safeguarding assessment reports (works hand in hand with design specification)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or experienced Technologist required.
  • Electronics or Electrical preferred. Other disciplines considered with correct automation experience.
  • Registration as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) or equivalent in control systems (i.e. P.L.Eng) within local jurisdiction, or eligibility for registration is a strong preference.
  • Functional safety certification is an asset.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Experience in Automation and Control Systems required.
  • Knowledge in pneumatic and hydraulic systems is an asset.
  • Working experience with AutoCAD.

Location:

An experienced candidate can be located anywhere in North America. Western Canada, Ontario or Eastern US is ideal but not mandatory.
