Job Title: UI Designer - Portfolio Management Platform
Contract Length: 3+ Month contract
Location: WINSTON SALEM, NC 27101

Pay: $60-65 an hr on W2
The User Interface (UI) Designer – Portfolio Management Platforms is responsible for designing intuitive, scalable, and compliant user experiences that support Portfolio Management solutions and centralized operational implementation across Unified Managed Account (UMA) and Separately Managed Account (SMA) platforms. This role partners closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineers, and Operations teams to translate complex investment and operational workflows into effective user interface designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality user interface solutions for portfolio management, trading, rebalancing, and operational workflows across UMA and SMA platforms
- Create wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes using Figma, ensuring consistency with enterprise design systems and accessibility standards
- Collaborate with Product and Technology partners to translate business requirements into clear UI designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Develop and maintain end-to-end workflow documentation, including current state and future state process maps
- Identify usability issues, workflow inefficiencies, and design risks, and propose solutions aligned to product strategy
- Present design concepts and workflow solutions to stakeholders and incorporate feedback iteratively
- Ensure UI designs align with regulatory, operational, and platform constraints typical of financial services environments
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following roles:
- User Interface Designer / UX Designer / Product Designer
- Business Analyst
- Product Owner or Product Manager with significant design responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise or platform-based applications within a product organization
- Proficiency with Figma for UI design, prototyping, and collaboration
- Experience using JIRA to manage user stories, tasks, and design-related backlog items
- Strong experience in workflow mapping, process modeling, or service design
- Working knowledge of Agile / Scrum delivery methodologies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting Portfolio Management, Investment Operations, UMA, or SMA platforms
- Familiarity with enterprise design systems and component-based UI frameworks
- Experience working in regulated environments, such as financial services or wealth management
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive design practices
- Experience collaborating across multiple product teams or large-scale platform initiatives
