About the job

This position helps Twilio.org develop important relationships and opportunities with influential nonprofits and social enterprises, refining overall customer acquisition and growth strategy while working closely with sales and finance teams. You will build key relationships with identified influential organizations, negotiating, executing, and managing the customer relationships to support nonprofits and social enterprises in leveraging communications to tackle significant world problems.

We are looking for someone with a blend of sales or consulting experience in the public sector, business acumen, and technical savvy—someone ready to make a difference and grow their career where these skills intersect.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for new customer acquisition and assigned quota for net new bookings.
  • Use a systematic approach to establish deep relationships with prospective customers, understanding their mission, strategy, key decision‑makers, and organization.
  • Leverage public‑sector expertise (US State & Local Government, Higher Education) to build strategic programs that drive impact and expansion.
  • Drive revenue and market share in defined territory within the government, nonprofit, and social enterprise industry.
  • Collaborate with Twilio partners to accelerate public‑sector expansion.
  • Develop, maintain and expand the pipeline of new opportunities.
  • Provide timely forecasts and clear visibility on sales and revenue performance.
  • Partner cross‑functionally to create long‑range territory strategies and sales plans.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast utilizing CRM (Salesforce).
  • Qualify, structure, negotiate, close, and manage strategic relationships to drive platform adoption and revenue.
  • Work with sales organization, product owners, legal, and operations to drive post‑close engagement.
  • Expand relationships with existing key customers and develop go‑to‑market strategies.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of selling complex, technical products or customer‑facing consulting experience.
  • 3–5+ years selling/consulting with public‑sector organizations and extensive industry contacts.
  • Deep experience in the public‑sector partner ecosystem and co‑selling with fulfillment, delivery, SIs, etc.
  • Ability to influence across all levels, including extensive C‑level relationship management.
  • Passion for using technology to make a difference and support complex customers.
  • Experience selling to enterprise customers with complex business and technical needs.
  • Experience crafting partnership vision, strategy, and execution plans.
  • Technical understanding of software, product integration, roadmaps, and product managers.
  • Technically savvy with cloud, APIs, communications and enterprise software.
  • Proven ability to start from scratch, negotiate and structure complex deals.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with public‑sector contracting, pricing, and ecosystem processes.
  • Experience with fulfillment & resell partners for deal execution and partnership leveraging.

Location

This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in CT, NJ, NY, WA, PA or the surrounding areas of San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, or San Jose, CA.

Travel

Approximately 25% travel is anticipated.

Compensation

  • Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Minnesota or Vermont: $110,
