Job Description
Job Title: Haul Truck Operator
Schedule: 12-hour shifts
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Haul Truck Operator to join our mining operations team. This role is responsible for safely operating heavy haul trucks in an active mine environment to transport material efficiently and in accordance with site safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience operating 40-ton to 100-ton haul trucks and must be willing to work 12-hour shifts, and be open to day and night schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate mine haul trucks in an active mining environment
- Transport materials efficiently to designated locations
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of equipment
- Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or unsafe conditions immediately
- Follow all site safety procedures, traffic patterns, and operational rules
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and other equipment operators
- Maintain productivity while operating equipment safely and responsibly
- Assist with other duties as needed to support site operations
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating 40-ton to 100-ton haul trucks
- Previous mining or heavy civil experience preferred
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts
- Must be open to day and night shift schedules
- Strong understanding of safe equipment operation and site awareness
- MSHA certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license
Work Environment
- Outdoor mining environment with exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and varying weather conditions
- Work around heavy equipment, trucks, and active site traffic
- Physically demanding role requiring attention to detail and strong safety awareness
