Duties

• Provide expert hair styling, barbering, and grooming services including cuts, trims, color treatments, and styling to meet client preferences.
• Perform specialized services such as hair extensions, eyelash extensions, nail care, and makeup application to enhance client satisfaction.
• Use salon software like MINDBODY to schedule appointments, check in clients, and manage daily operations efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations, including proper sterilization of tools and workstations.
• Offer retail sales of hair care products, styling tools, and accessories through upselling techniques to boost revenue.
• Assist front desk duties such as greeting clients, managing appointments, and handling payments with excellent communication skills.
• Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair threading, coloring theory, and customer service best practices to foster a collaborative environment.
• Keep up-to-date with current trends in hair styling and barbering to provide innovative services that excite clients.
• Manage store operations when needed by supporting store management tasks such as inventory control and team coordination.

Experience

• Proven experience as a hairstylist or barber with a strong portfolio demonstrating diverse skills in cutting, coloring, and styling.
• Certification in Cosmetology or Barbering from an accredited institution; additional training in hair extensions and eyelash extensions is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with salon management software like MINDBODY or similar platforms for scheduling and client management.
• Knowledge of color theory to create customized color treatments that complement each client's skin tone and style preferences.
• Skilled in sanitation procedures to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff alike.
• Excellent communication skills to understand client needs clearly and provide personalized recommendations confidently.
• Experience with retail sales techniques including upselling products such as hair care items, nail care products, and styling tools.
• Ability to perform advanced services like straight razor shaves or hair threading when required.
• Strong organizational skills for managing appointments efficiently while maintaining a lively and energetic work atmosphere. Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
