Washington, DC office of a national law firm is seeking a detail‑oriented, proactive Conflicts Coordinator to join the Governance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with strong conflicts or records management experience who thrives in a fast‑paced, analytical environment.
Schedule: Thursday – Monday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM (EST)
Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite
Salary Range: $84,510.40 – $114,108.80 annually
Responsibilities
Conflicts, Intake & Governance Support
- Conduct conflicts checks for new clients/matters, lateral attorneys, pitches, and other professional activities.
- Prepare, analyze, and communicate conflicts reports; support attorneys with conflict resolution.
- Complete new business intake forms and provide administrative support throughout the review process.
- Draft, analyze, and review engagement letters; assess the need for ethical walls.
Ethical Wall & Data Management
- Build and maintain ethical screens within billing and document management systems.
- Draft and distribute Firmwide ethical wall memoranda.
- Monitor ethical walls (add/remove screened individuals, resolve issues, manage lifecycle).
Records, Audits & Governance
- Process administrative records requests (file retrievals, transfers, archives).
- Lead the outside counsel guideline review process and audit letter response workflow.
- Collect, analyze, and prepare reports for senior leadership, auditors, and key stakeholders.
- Support risk and compliance initiatives and other governance-related projects.
Tools & Technology
- Proficiency with conflicts databases (Intapp, 3E, Aderant, LegalKey)
- Experience with records, intake, and secure file transfer systems (Intapp, 3E, FileTrail, Varonis, Kiteworks)
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and DMS platforms
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in law firm conflicts, governance, or records management
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
