About the Role
True North Health is looking for a highly motivated Clerical Assistant/ Receptionist to join our team.
As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring the smooth flow of daily operations. This position requires strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a genuine passion for patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction & Scheduling
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and provide a positive first impression of the clinic.
- Manage phone calls, emails, and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using clinic scheduling software.
- Collect and verify patient information, ensuring accuracy of records.
- Administrative Support
- Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Process payments, insurance information, and billing inquiries.
- Maintain organized files and digital records.
- Support the optometrists and clinical staff with administrative needs.
- Clinic Coordination
- Keep the reception area tidy, organized, and welcoming.
- Assist in coordinating patient flow to ensure minimal wait times.
- Manage inventory of front-desk supplies.
- Communicate effectively with team members to support clinic efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a receptionist, front desk associate, or in customer service (preferably in healthcare or optometry).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency with scheduling software, EMR systems, and basic office tools (Google Sheet).
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor with a patient-first mindset.
