What Is the Opportunity?
InsuraMatch, an independent agency owned by Travelers, leverages an innovative online platform to help consumers compare offerings from over 40 insurance carriers nationwide. Focusing on personal insurance, we offer coverage options for auto, home, boat, motorcycle, renters, umbrella, and flood insurance, among others. As an independent agency, we manage all carrier partnerships.
We are excited to welcome a versatile Systems Engineer to our team. This position involves supporting various applications and platforms that enhance acquisition targeting, retention modeling, predictive analytics, and data architecture. You will directly influence our growth while collaborating with senior executives.
What Will You Do?
- Engage actively with the InsuraMatch team to conceive and develop scalable, secure, and performant solutions.
- Contribute to process improvements in development.
- Provide tier one support for cloud and physical networks, servers, operating systems, and processes.
- Monitor and manage Serverless, Linux, and Windows platforms.
- Take ownership of technology operations, including production, deployment process automation, monitoring, and security.
- Design and implement expert-level AWS solutions.
- Align security architecture frameworks, standards, and overall cloud strategy.
- Mentor engineers in cloud security and technologies.
- Create and maintain build scripts, templates, and artifacts for the Infrastructure stack.
- Support application migration to cloud infrastructures and assist in necessary analysis and re-architecture.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work/military experience.
- At least 1 year of systems administration experience.
- Knowledge of insurance products and services.
- Expertise with MySQL relational databases.
- Familiarity with Typescript and NodeJs.
- Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect and AWS Security Architect certifications.
- Experience with AWS to deliver highly-available, secure services.
- Familiarity with AWS security practices.
- Deep knowledge of LAMP platforms.
- Systems administration experience in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery.
- Experience transitioning platforms to a server-less infrastructure.
- Understanding of information security best practices.
- Exposure to PII regulations and controls.
- Ability to script in Python and Bash, and read Node.js.
- Solid understanding of SQL query and schema design.
- Familiarity with Serverless Computing principles and practices.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for large data projects.
- Strong communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Creative thinker capable of analyzing and applying information to business challenges.
