Location: Remote (Anywhere in Canada)

Travel Requirement: Some travel to San Francisco Bay Area (3–5 days in-office per visit)

Role Overview

This is not a traditional legal role .

We are hiring a Canada-qualified lawyer (or licensing candidate) based anywhere in Canada whose primary responsibility is to generate new legal work from our global client base .

You will work across:

Trademarks (primary focus) Corporate legal work Copyright and IP matters Litigation (plaintiff and defense)

Your success will be measured by your ability to consistently generate new revenue (~$50,000 USD/month target)

This is a business development / rainmaker role .

Key Responsibilities Develop new legal work from Trademarkia’s global client base Build and maintain strong client relationships Conduct client meetings via Zoom, phone, and occasional in-person Proactively follow up on leads and dormant clients Help clients build and manage IP portfolios Use AI tools to scale outreach and improve conversion Coordinate with internal legal teams to convert opportunities into active matters Travel Requirement (MANDATORY) Must be able to travel to the San Francisco Bay Area once per month During each trip, must work in-office for 3–5 consecutive days Must be eligible for frequent U.S. travel Travel is a core requirement of the role Performance Expectations Primary KPI: Monthly revenue generation Target: ~$50,000 USD/month in new legal work 3-month probation period : Must demonstrate consistent progress toward revenue targets This is a performance-driven role with clear accountability Compensation Base Salary: CAD $90,000 – $115,000/year Compensation reflects a lower base with strong growth potential Continued employment is tied to meeting revenue expectations Legal Work (Optional) Opportunity to contribute to legal work However, business development is the primary focus Legal work must not detract from revenue generation Qualifications Licensed to practice law in Canada (any province) or pursuing licensing Eligible for frequent travel to the United States (required) Strong interest in business development, sales, and client engagement Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Comfortable with client outreach, networking, and follow-ups Ability to work in a metrics-driven environment Interest or experience in trademark/IP law (preferred) Comfortable using AI tools and digital platforms Self-motivated, disciplined, and results-oriented Who This Role Is For Lawyers who want to build a book of business early Candidates comfortable with targets, travel, and accountability Individuals interested in AI-driven legal services Who This Role Is Not For Candidates unable to travel as needed to the U.S. Individuals uncomfortable with sales targets or revenue accountability Those seeking a purely legal or research-focused role Why Join Trademarkia Immediate access to a large global client base Fully remote flexibility within Canada Opportunity to grow into a high-performing rainmaker role Work at the forefront of AI-driven legal services
