Your role will make a significant impact on&nbsp;the future of trucking and autonomous technology as we look to Drive the Future of Freight. We&nbsp;are currently seeking a Hardware Engineer II who is enthusiastic about thriving in a hands-on&nbsp;environment and ready to grow with the team. In this role, you will analyze and write hardware&nbsp;requirements, interface with automotive suppliers and stakeholders, develop and oversee&nbsp;implementation of test plans and procedures, and ensure overall alignment between the hardware components and the system goals.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you'll do:</strong></p> <p>The Hardware Engineer II on the Sensors Team will be responsible for authoring, maintaining&nbsp;and analyzing technical requirements, and working across the product lifecycle to ensure&nbsp;stakeholder alignment and successful test/validation of each sensor.&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Develop camera, and inertial navigation systems (INS) components that meet functional safety, security and functional requirements.&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain requirements databases using both DOORS and Jama, ensuring accuracy and&nbsp;traceability.&nbsp;</li> <li>Partner with the Systems team to interpret system-level requirements and decompose into&nbsp;detailed components requirements.&nbsp;</li> <li>Collaborate with automotive Tier-1 suppliers to enable efficient project execution by&nbsp;removing technical blockers as the projects progress.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensure the quality of hardware deliveries by designing and establishing robust test plans&nbsp;that trace back to component requirements. This includes lab-based testing and real-world field trials to verify sensor functionality and ensure automotive-grade performance.</li> <li>Partner with the Component Enablement software team to execute the relevant hardware&nbsp;component tests.&nbsp;</li> <li>Perform problem-solving activities during design, prototype and production, driving root&nbsp;cause analysis and problem resolution.&nbsp;</li> <li>Create and maintain technical documentation and reports related to the above.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you’ll need to succeed:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Computer&nbsp;Engineering or related field and 4+ years experience OR Master’s degree in a related&nbsp;field and 2-4 years experience.&nbsp;</li> <li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience working with camera and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) sensor modalities</li> <li>Experience with Requirements Management Tools such as DOORS and Jama.&nbsp;</li> <li>Understanding of automotive ECUs and methodologies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Familiarity or experience with data buses such as CAN, PCIe, Ethernet, Automotive&nbsp;Ethernet, LIN, I2C.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deliverables.&nbsp;</li> <li>Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to automotive electronics.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with high speed signaling and signal integrity.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.&nbsp;</li> <li>Willingness and ability to work across teams, geographies and time zones.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Points!</strong></p> <ul> <li>Automotive OEM/Tier-1 supplier experience or working in a similar environment.</li> <li>Experience designing, executing and documenting lab-based and or real-world field tests.</li> <li>Experience processing and analyzing large datasets from all sensor modalities to evaluate performance.</li> <li>Experience with ISO 26262 standards, ASPICE, autonomous vehicles, or developing&nbsp;sensor modality applications&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with processors and microcontrollers.&nbsp;</li> <li>Knowledge or experience in safety-critical systems and applications.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with pyCASSD software</li> <li>Experience with C, C++, Python or Linux</li> </ul> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Perks of Being a Full-time&nbsp;Torc’r</span></strong>&nbsp;<br><span data-contrast="auto">Torc cares about our team&nbsp;members&nbsp;and we strive to provide benefits and resources to support their health, work/life balance, and future.
