Job Description
As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:
- Accountable for the export of finished products, ensuring customer service, brokerage, and customs transaction compliance.
- Manage daily purchasing activities across Packaging, Maintenance, and Operations areas.
- Ensure appropriate lead-time for purchase items and effective cost management.
- Monitor and enhance site-based Supplier Performance.
- Review and optimize stock control and consumables stores management.
- Obtain quotes and negotiate pricing for non-contracted lines.
- Manage and report non-conforming products or services.
- Provide feedback for Supplier reviews.
- Collaborate with Department Supervisors for trialing new/alternative materials.
- Manage new material requests with accuracy and within timelines.
- Attend key meetings to support site requirements.
- Apply Pharmaceutical and Quality standards for purchased items.
- Drive continuous improvement in purchasing function.
- Ensure adherence to Company policies, procedures, processes, and work instructions.
Qualifications required:
- Relevant qualifications or experience in purchasing or a related field.
- Previous experience with ERPs/SAP preferred.
- Good understanding of inventory management principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Effective time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
