Think 2wice (T2) is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to interrupting gun and gang violence in high-risk communities. T2 delivers trauma-informed, culturally responsive programming for justice-involved individuals, incarcerated populations, and communities impacted by violence, loss, and incarceration. Supporting victims, communities, and perpetrators of violence, T2 challenges negative mindsets and turns pain into purpose, builds positive leaders and mentors, strengthens resilience, promotes social inclusion, and supports healing, accountability, and successful reintegration.
The ToWards Peace Project (TWP) is a risk-driven, community-centric interruption model that takes a public health approach to interrupting and intervening in community violence. This model leverages the lived experience of affected communities to develop and implement effective community engagement approaches, innovative communication tools, social media strategies, and focused investments geared toward violence prevention and interruption.
The integrated approach combines community-based, social media, and hospital-based violence interventions.
Position Summary
The T2 Project Lead is responsible for the operationalization, coordination, and oversight of the ToWards Peace (TWP) and Kings to Kings (K2K) initiatives.Reporting to the Manager of Community Safety, the Project Lead provides leadership in staff supervision, program implementation, risk management, evaluation, and stakeholder engagement. The role ensures that services delivered by Violence Disruption Workers (VDWs), Reintegration Workers, and outreach staff are aligned with program objectives, trauma-informed principles, and community safety priorities. The Project Lead is accountable for compliance with City and funder requirements and for strengthening systems coordination across interruption, reintegration, and prevention initiatives.
Staff and volunteers working directly with vulnerable populations may be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check in accordance with applicable provincial legislation.

Position Type: Full Time (1 FTE)
Salary Range: $60,080.65 – $74,500 annually
Hourly Equivalent: $33.00 – $40.93 per hour (based on a 35-hour work week)
Contract Length: 12 months, subject to funding
Reports To: Community Safety Manager
Start Date: As soon as possible
Evenings and weekends may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Supervision & Team Leadership
- Supervise staff including VDWs, Reintegration Workers, Outreach Workers, Navigation staff, and Admin staff
- Conduct one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and workplan monitoring
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and professional development
- Serve as a buffer between frontline staff and senior leadership
Program Oversight & Implementation
- Lead TWP and K2K program delivery
- Monitor caseloads, outreach metrics, and intervention outcomes
- Ensure integration across interruption, reintegration, and grief supports
- Coordinate risk management and safety planning with the Community Safety Manager
City & Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent Think 2wice at City tables (FOCUS, BRAVE, Justice, etc.)
- Maintain partnerships with schools, probation, parole, and community agencies
- Identify service gaps and develop strategic responses
Data, Evaluation & Reporting
- Lead monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity reports (or as requested by the funder)
- Ensure funder compliance and timely reporting
- Track outreach, referrals, and intervention outcomes
Funding & Strategic Development
- Support grant writing and funding applications
- Identify partnership and funding opportunities
- Contribute to broader Think 2wice initiatives
Required Qualifications
Many forms of education and experience are valued, including volunteering and lived experience with the justice system, gun/gang involvement, or impacted communities.
Minimum education and experience include:
Education & Experience
- Degree in Social Work, Social Justice, Public Health, Law and Justice, or a related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience
- Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in direct people management and staff supervision
- Proven experience in program coordination, implementation, and evaluation
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary or frontline teams in high-pressure, ambiguous environments
Knowledge & Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of municipal funding environments and the political realities of working with City partners
- Experience navigating shifting priorities, evolving mandates, and ambiguous policy direction within publicly funded programs
- Solid grant writing, funding development, and proposal support experience
- Experience working within grassroots organizational environments, including capacity building, systems development, and infrastructure strengthening
- Knowledge of gun and gang prevention, intervention, and interruption frameworks
- Understanding of incarceration pathways, reintegration challenges, and diversion strategies
- Familiarity with the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), probation, parole, and custodial systems
- Working knowledge of trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and Afrocentric practice frameworks
- Understanding of community-based violence interruption models and public health approaches to safety
- Experience navigating funding agreements, compliance requirements, reporting structures, and City deliverables
- Experience conducting needs assessments to inform program development, capacity building, and team strengthening initiatives
- Experience providing structured, culturally responsive, trauma-informed support to staff with lived experience
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain meaningful community relationships to strengthen outreach and referral pathways

- Systems thinking and ability to strengthen structure within grassroots environments
- Ability to wear multiple hats and support operational needs as required
Assets
- Strong knowledge of Rexdale neighbourhoods, including familiarity with Rexdale/Jamestown community dynamics
- Experience leading violence interruption teams or prevention initiatives
- Experience coordinating large community events or conferences
Cross-Population Insight & Cultural Competency
Deep understanding of the overlapping experiences and psychosocial dynamics of gun- and gang-involved youth and military veterans, including trauma exposure, identity reconstruction, hypervigilance, and reintegration challenges.
