About the Role

Themes and Variations Inc. is looking for a video editor and animator for a summer project. The videos created will be posted on our website, MusicplayOnline.com. MusicplayOnline is a subscription based sequential music curriculum website, designed for elementary schools. We provide structured, ready-to-use lesson plans for teachers. Each weekly lesson introduces new musical concepts, reinforces prior learning, and includes seasonal and holiday repertoire. All the planning is done for the teacher!

The primary focus for this position will be to create animations and edits for a series of animated videos intended for our website. Additionally, there are a number of accessibility improvements for our existing videos that this position will assist with.

Your work will create engaging videos to assist students with learning music all over the world, and the work on accessibility will increase our reach to every student we can.

What You’ll Do

• Create animations according to team specifications
• Compile and edit videos into uploadable content
• Create subtitle and closed captioning tracks for new and existing videos
• Assist with adding described audio to videos

Hours and Compensation

• Start date: May 15, 2026
• End date: August 15, 2026
• 35 hours per week
• $18/hour – paid bi-weekly

• Must be able to work at the office in Red Deer, Alberta
• Must meet requirements for Canada Summer Jobs program:
• Must be between 15 and 30 years of age
• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
• Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
