At Disney, we’re storytellers. We make the impossible, possible. The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) is a world-class entertainment and technological leader. Walt’s passion was to continuously envision new ways to move audiences around the world—a passion that remains our touchstone in an enterprise that stretches from theme parks, resorts and a cruise line to sports, news, movies and a variety of other businesses. Uniting each endeavor is a commitment to creating and delivering unforgettable experiences — and we’re constantly looking for new ways to enhance these exciting experiences.

The Enterprise Technology mission is to deliver technology solutions that align to business strategies while enabling enterprise efficiency and promoting cross-company collaborative innovation. Our group drives competitive advantage by enhancing our consumer experiences, enabling business growth, and advancing operational excellence.

We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with deep Snowflake and data‑platform experience to ensure the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of modern analytics and data systems.

This role blends core SRE principles with hands‑on Snowflake expertise. You will be responsible for keeping data platforms available, performant, secure, and cost‑efficient, while enabling data engineering and analytics teams to move fast with confidence.

What You’ll Do:

Snowflake Reliability & Operations

  • Own the operational health, availability, and performance of Snowflake environments supporting analytics and data workloads.
  • Define and implement reliability goals (SLIs/SLOs) for Snowflake and data‑platform services.
  • Monitor Snowflake usage, performance, and concurrency to proactively identify risks and bottlenecks.
  • Lead incident response for Snowflake‑related production issues, including performance degradation and availability concerns.

Automation & Platform Engineering

  • Automate Snowflake administration tasks such as:
  • Account and environment provisioning
  • Role‑based access control
  • Resource and warehouse management
  • Usage and cost monitoring
  • Build infrastructure‑as‑code and policy‑as‑code solutions for Snowflake and supporting cloud services.
  • Reduce operational toil by building self‑service workflows and guardrails for data teams.

Observability, Cost & Governance

  • Implement monitoring and alerting for Snowflake performance, query behavior, and system health.
  • Partner with stakeholders to drive cost optimization, usage governance, and capacity planning.
  • Improve security posture through least‑privilege access, auditing, and compliance‑aligned controls.

Collaboration & Enablement

  • Partner with data engineering teams to support reliable CI/CD pipelines for data workloads.
  • Work closely with analytics, platform, and security teams to ensure Snowflake is reliable by design.
  • Contribute to operational standards, documentation, and best practices for data platforms.
  • Mentor engineers and help mature SRE practices within the data ecosystem.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Systems Engineering roles.
  • 4+ years of hands‑on experience administering Snowflake in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, including compute, storage, virtual warehouses, and security.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, SQL, Bash).
  • Experience operating in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • Experience supporting data pipelines or analytics platforms in production.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DBT, Airflow, or similar data orchestration tools.
  • Strong background in Snowflake cost optimization and usage governance.
  • Familiarity with data security, compliance, and access‑control models.
  • Experience applying SRE principles specifically to data and analytics platforms.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $141,900 to $190,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
