Role Description The Service Advisor at The Shop ARS is a part-time, on-site role based in Culpeper, VA. The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the service team, greeting customers, listening to their concerns, and documenting vehicle issues clearly and accurately. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing service estimates, explaining recommended work and associated costs, obtaining approvals, and coordinating with technicians to schedule and prioritize repairs. The role also involves updating customers on repair status, reviewing completed work and invoices, and ensuring a smooth, customer-friendly experience from check-in to vehicle pickup. The Service Advisor maintains organized records, supports aftersales follow-ups, and contributes to a clean, professional front-of-house environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer interaction abilities, including Customer Service, Customer Satisfaction, and Customer-focused Service skills.
• Clear and professional Communication skills, both in person and over phone, email, and text.
• Experience with Aftersales activities, such as follow-ups, service reminders, and post-service support.
• Prior experience in an automotive service or dealership environment is preferred.
• Ability to learn and use shop management or scheduling software; basic computer proficiency.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple work orders at once.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to explain technical information in simple, understandable terms.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or automotive training is a plus.
