The O’Dwyer Group is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team.
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working within a fast-paced team environment as a Human Resources Administrator. Reporting to the Vice-President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Administrator will support the day-to-day human resources administration, ensuring effective delivery of HR services in areas such as recruitment and onboarding administration, company benefits administration, training administration, and compliance.
This is an 12 Month+, contract position.
The O’Dwyer Group (ODG) is a vertically integrated, transport fleet services and temperature control solutions provider with over 50 years of combined expertise. ODG is comprised of a transport temperature control division, and a transport fleet services division.

Responsibilities would include:
Recruitment Support:
- Provide administrative support across the full recruitment lifecycle, including resume screening, phone screenings, reference checks, and candidate coordination
- Prepare, audit, and maintain new hire packages to ensure completion and compliance
- Coordinate onboarding activities with hiring managers and new hires
- Assign onboarding and role‑specific training programs
- Maintain employee records, including emergency contact information, in Dayforce
HR Administration & Reporting
- Generate and maintain HR reports, analytics, and dashboards for internal platforms (e.g., SharePoint)
- Prepare and distribute employment verification letters
- Distribute Records of Employment each pay period
- Update and maintain employee contact and email distribution reports
- File, organize, and maintain employee documentation and personnel files
- Create, update, and maintain HR SOP booklets
Training, Compliance & Safety
- Assign, track, and report on employee training completion
- Coordinate mandatory certifications and training (e.g., JHSC, First Aid, LiftTow)
- Track workplace incidents, injuries, and related documentation
- Monitor and maintain records of technician certifications
Compensation, Recognition & Payroll Support
- Administer the employee rewards and recognition program, including bi‑weekly reporting and service award orders
- Prepare documentation related to mid‑year compensation increases for payroll processing
- Compile and distribute overtime reports for executive leadership
Analytics, Research & Strategic Support
- Prepare training and workforce statistics for senior leadership presentations
- Conduct research on market salary benchmarks
- Research and identify available grants and funding opportunities
Operational & Cross‑Functional Support
- Administer fleet insurance documentation and reporting
- Coordinate the ordering of marketing materials and brochures
- Provide general administrative and ad‑hoc support to the HR leadership team as required
- Prepare, audit, and maintain new hire packages to ensure completion and compliance
- Coordinate onboarding activities with hiring managers and new hires
- Assign onboarding and role‑specific training programs
- Maintain employee records, including emergency contact information, in Dayforce

- Education & Experience:
- College Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources Management.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accurate data entry skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- High level of initiative, adaptability, and teamwork.
- 1+ years experience in a Human Resources Generalist or related role.
