Job Description
The Marketing Specialist plays a vital supporting role within IFDA's marketing and communications team. This position contributes to the execution of integrated marketing strategies, supports event marketing initiatives, and helps amplify IFDA's brand and voice across digital and print channels. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creatively minded, and eager to grow within a fast-paced association environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage the marketing and communications calendar, tracking project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables across campaigns and cross-departmental collaborations. Keep internal stakeholders informed and projects on schedule.
- Support the placement and trafficking of paid advertising across digital and print channels, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure accurate, on-time delivery of ad assets.
- Manage day-to-day social media activity across IFDA's platforms, including drafting and scheduling content, engaging with audiences, and tracking performance analytics to inform strategy.
- Assist in the design and production of marketing materials, including event collateral, promotional pieces, email graphics, social assets, and presentations—with an eye for brand consistency and visual quality.
- Coordinate and execute email marketing campaigns for IFDA programs, events, and services, including drafting, formatting, list management, and performance reporting.
- Support event marketing needs from pre-event promotion through on-site execution, including signage coordination, attendee communications, and logistics support as needed.
- Assist with updating and refreshing website content across IFDA's digital properties, ensuring accuracy and alignment with brand and style guide standards.
- Develop and support written content across digital channels, including blog posts, aligned with organizational priorities.
- Research, build, and maintain targeted media lists to support strategic outreach, ensuring accurate, up-to-date journalists and outlet information for effective pitching.
- Assist with developing monthly media reports.
- Provide general administrative support to the Marketing & Communications department, as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and keep stakeholders informed
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality across all deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting and proofreading
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing best practices
- An eye for graphic design; experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools is a plus
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn email marketing platforms (HubSpot, Constant Contact, or similar)
- Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a small-team environment
- Experience with or interest in association or nonprofit marketing is a plus
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Travel:
Minimal overnight travel (up to 5%) by land and/ or air. Some weekend travel required.
