Job Description
About The Role
The Crowd is excited to be partnering with a highly creative, design-driven studio specializing in original artwork and large-scale installations for hospitality and commercial environments. Known for producing distinctive murals, wallcoverings, sculptural pieces, and custom artwork featured in spaces such as hotels, restaurants, and amenity environments, this collaborative studio is seeking a Studio Artist to join their NYC team.
This is a rare opportunity for a highly visual and concept-driven artist who thrives in a fast-paced studio environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong artistic instincts, advanced digital design skills – particularly in Photoshop – and a deep understanding of how artwork translates into large-scale, production-ready applications. Working closely with a tight-knit creative team, this person will help transform conceptual briefs into original, fully realized artwork across a wide range of mediums.
If you’re someone who loves solving creative challenges, generating fresh ideas quickly, and working on projects that range from murals to textile concepts, this role offers the chance to create impactful artwork every single day along with additional benefits, like health insurance and PTO packages.
Please note, this role is strictly 5 days a week in office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop original art concepts for hospitality and commercial spaces, translating client inspiration and project briefs into visually compelling, production-ready designs
- Design artwork across a variety of formats including large-scale murals, wallcoverings, textile patterns, and custom artistic installations
- Produce polished presentation materials, mockups, and design variations to support client presentations and concept development
- Prepare artwork files for large-format printing and fabrication, ensuring proper scale, color accuracy, repeat patterns, and production specifications
- Collaborate closely with internal team members and external production partners – including printers and fabricators – to ensure artwork is executed with the highest level of quality
Key Skills / Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience creating commercial or production-based visual artwork, ideally in environments such as hospitality, interiors, or large-scale installations
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, with strong working knowledge of Illustrator and other digital design tools
- Strong understanding of pattern repeats, scaling, bleed requirements, and preparing artwork for large-format print or fabrication
- A strong portfolio demonstrating original artwork and the ability to translate conceptual inspiration into unique, legally distinct designs
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously while working within deadlines in a collaborative studio setting
