Chemours is seeking a Training Coordinator to join our growing team. This position will be available at our Discovery Hub site in Newark, DE.
The Training Coordinator is a key contributor within our R&D organization, supporting Laboratory and Pilot Operations across all business units. This role works collaboratively with leadership, technical staff and Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) staff to ensure that all personnel receive timely, job‑specific, safety, regulatory, and technical training. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technologically proficient, and experienced in developing, delivering, and managing training in a dynamic, research-driven environment.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Partner with R&D leadership, EHS, Quality, and Facilities Maintenance Teams to identify training needs, align training programs with operational and regulatory requirements, and assign relevant classroom, hands-on, and/or computer-based training modules based on roles.
- Develop, update, and maintain a comprehensive Training Requirements Matrix for all job roles and topics.
- Administer the site’s electronic computer-based learning system (Vector):
- Assign and remove training based on job roles
- Schedule courses, monitor completion, and follow up on overdue assignments
- Add, update, and retire training modules to ensure content is current, accurate, and compliant
- Maintain accurate training records and provide regular metrics on compliance, requalification, and refresher courses.
- Coordinate and conduct onboarding, safety, and technical training for new hires, ensuring alignment with research protocols, site procedures, and corporate and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate and conduct refresher training and job-cycle checks per corporate and site requirements.
- Support and facilitate site-wide training needs assessments to identify skill or knowledge gaps and propose solutions.
- Develop and implement a variety of instructional methods suited to research, pilot, and maintenance environments, including hands-on workshops, mentoring programs, simulations, and professional development sessions.
- Partner with internal resources and stakeholders on instructional design, integrating feedback to enhance training effectiveness.
- Market and communicate available training opportunities to all R&D staff; serve as a resource for training-related questions.
- Maintain and continuously improve the training content.
The Following Is Required For This Role
- Associate’s Degree (or higher) in a relevant field (science, engineering, business, training, or office administration)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience supporting training programs in technical, laboratory, or regulated environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, and PDF software
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS), preferably within a laboratory, R&D, or industrial setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
The Following Is Preferred For This Role
- Bachelor’s degree in scientific, technical, or training-related discipline
- Experience developing and implementing training programs in R&D, laboratory, pilot plant, maintenance, or highly regulated environments
- Experience with compliance and audit processes for training documentation
- Knowledge of lab safety and workplace safety (e.g., lockout-tagout, line break, fall prevention/protection)
- Demonstrated leadership, team building, and problem-solving abilities
