Brand Strategy Lead (Fractional / Contract)
Branded Agency
| Remote (Canada preferred)
We’re a brand-first agency working with companies that are
repositioning, restructuring, or scaling
— and we’re looking for a
Brand Strategy Lead
to help us define the thinking behind that transformation.
This is not a “marketing strategist” role.
This is not a “make slides and run campaigns” role.
This is for someone who can take complex businesses and turn them into
clear, defensible brand strategy and architecture
.
What You’ll Do
You’ll lead the strategic backbone of our client work, working
directly with and under our Head of Brand & Growth
.
Research & Insight
- Conduct stakeholder and customer interviews
- Analyze markets, competitors, and positioning landscapes
- Turn ambiguity into clear insights
Brand Strategy
- Develop positioning, value propositions, and messaging frameworks
- Translate research into strategic direction clients can act on
- Present and defend your thinking with confidence
Brand Architecture
- Design brand structures (house of brands, branded house, hybrids)
- Support naming, portfolio strategy, and restructuring initiatives
- Guide clients through high-stakes brand decisions
Client Leadership
- Lead workshops and strategy sessions
- Work directly with founders and executive teams
- Challenge assumptions and bring clarity to complex problems
Internal Collaboration
- Partner with creative to ensure strategy drives execution
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Brand & Growth on overall direction and approach
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10+ years in
brand strategy, consulting, or similar roles
- Previous agency experience strongly preferred
(or equivalent client-facing consulting experience)
- Experience leading
rebrands, positioning, and complex organizations
- Ability to lead research and synthesize insights independently
- Clear, structured thinking (you can explain
why
, not just
what
)
- Comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders
Critical:
We are industry-agnostic
. You should be able to apply strong strategic thinking across:
- SaaS
- B2B
- DTC
- And a wide range of industries
This is not a niche-specialist role — we’re looking for someone who understands
principles, not just patterns
.

Engagement Details
- Type:
Fractional / Contract (2–4 days per week)

Remote (Canada preferred)
- Compensation:
~$4,000 – $8,000/month depending on experience and scope
- Potential to evolve into a long-term or leadership role
