Job Description

Join the Alberta Conservation Association as a Senior Biologist to drive wildlife conservation projects. This full-time role emphasizes stakeholder collaboration and quantitative population ecology.

In this Senior Biologist position, you will focus on leading diverse wildlife projects, focusing on ungulate populations throughout Alberta. Your advanced skills in data analysis and statistical programming will be critical in synthesizing insights for stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and understanding among diverse groups. You will manage project delivery and garner collaborative relationships with essential stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute ungulate population monitoring programs
  • Build relationships with hunters and engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Analyze ecological data using R and GIS tools
  • Oversee full project lifecycle from proposal to publication
  • Foster growth and mentorship among junior staff

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, or relevant field
  • Minimum of 5-8 years in wildlife biology
  • Eligibility as a Registered Professional Biologist
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • First Aid Class C certification with AED training
