Barber / Brand Ambassador

Tapers & Tequila is seeking experienced, professional, and entrepreneurial Barbers to join our growing network of talent and help elevate the guest experience through premium grooming services, brand representation, and digital marketing.

We're looking for barbers who not only deliver exceptional cuts but also understand how to build relationships, create engaging content, and attract new clientele through social media. This role is ideal for barbers with "motion"—those who are actively growing their personal brand and are excited to help grow ours.

As a newer location, we're building momentum and creating a destination experience. We are specifically seeking barbers who can contribute to generating new foot traffic by bringing energy, visibility, and an existing client following to help grow the business.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional barbering services, including haircuts, beard trims, lineups, fades, and grooming consultations
• Deliver a high-quality guest experience that reflects the Tapers & Tequila brand
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
• Build and maintain relationships with new and returning clients
• Promote services, events, and experiences through personal social media platforms
• Create and share engaging content showcasing your work and the atmosphere of the business
• Assist in attracting new clientele and increasing brand awareness
• Leverage your existing network and client relationships to help introduce new guests to the location
• Participate in promotional events, activations, collaborations, and special experiences
• Communicate effectively with management and fellow team members
• Uphold all company policies, appearance standards, and sanitation requirements

Schedule & Availability

• Flexible scheduling opportunities available
• Part-time, commission, booth rental, and event-based opportunities may be offered
• Availability during evenings and weekends preferred
• Advance notice provided for special events and activations whenever possible

Qualifications

• Previous barbering experience required
• Valid Barber License in the State of Maryland (or ability to obtain one before start date)
• Strong skills in fades, tapers, beard grooming, and modern cutting techniques
• Established clientele preferred
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong understanding of social media marketing and personal branding
• Comfortable creating content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow both personally and professionally

Clientele & Growth Expectations

Because we are a newer location focused on building awareness and creating new foot traffic, applicants should have an active network and some level of existing clientele they can bring with them.

Ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate one or more of the following:

• An active client list or regular returning clientele
• Existing appointment history through a booking platform
• A strong referral network within the community
• Social media engagement that generates client bookings
• Experience building a book of business from the ground up

While a large clientele is not required, barbers should be prepared to actively participate in growing both their own business and the Tapers & Tequila brand.

Social Media Requirement

Applicants with strong online engagement, creative content, evidence of community building, and an ability to drive clientele are highly encouraged to apply.
