Production Manager Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations to meet output, quality, and cost targets while optimizing extrusion equipment utilization
• Monitor production KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Champion workplace health and safety through audits, risk assessments, and team training
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, BRC, and all regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaboration on preventive maintenance schedules
• Support equipment upgrades and capital projects to improve reliability
• Align production schedules with Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure raw material availability and on-time order fulfillment
• Provide accurate production forecasts to support planning and distribution
• Lead, train, and motivate production staff while fostering a culture of safety and accountability
• Conduct performance evaluations and manage staffing needs
• Maintain product specifications and oversee sanitation practices throughout production
• Analyze production data to support quality improvements and decision-making

Production Manager Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Direct experience with extrusion machines and technology preferred
• HACCP Certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
• Lean Six Sigma, BRC/SQF, or other safety-related certifications preferred
• Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with extrusion equipment
• Availability to work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends
• Willingness to be on call as needed
• Ability to provide 2 professional references
• Must pass a background check
