Senior Supplier Quality Engineer – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the Role
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier compliance with manufacturing specifications, quality standards, and production requirements. This role partners with suppliers to improve product quality, reduce defects, qualify production parts, and strengthen manufacturing processes across the supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Review supplier quality documentation and validate compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Evaluate production parts and supplier qualification packages
- Monitor supplier performance and analyze defect trends
- Generate supplier quality reports and corrective action recommendations
- Lead supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality and manufacturing standards
- Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes, capabilities, and quality systems
- Support suppliers with process improvements and quality assurance initiatives
- Develop and implement supplier quality plans and process controls
- Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing defects and improving product quality
- Collaborate with internal engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve supplier-related issues
- Support supplier certification and qualification activities
Required Qualifications
- Experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or supplier development
- Experience qualifying production parts and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of supplier auditing, quality systems, and supplier performance management
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
- Excellent communication and supplier relationship management skills
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment

- Experience with CNC machining
- Experience with investment casting
- Experience in quality engineering
- Experience with production part qualification processes
- Familiarity with SAE specifications
- Familiarity with ASTM standards
- Familiarity with MIL specifications
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, industrial manufacturing, or precision component environments
