Construction Project Accountant/ Bookkeeper

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Construction Project Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing residential construction company. This role is responsible for overseeing project-related accounting across multiple construction projects, ensuring accurate financial tracking, reporting, invoicing, and budget management from project inception through completion.

The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and ownership teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and track financial activity across multiple residential construction projects
• Process and coordinate invoices between ownership, suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
• Review, organize, and maintain daily material receipts, purchase records, and project expenses
• Maintain accurate documentation of project budgets, costs, contracts, and change orders
• Reconcile invoices with purchase orders, contracts, delivery tickets, and approved billing
• Monitor project budgets and identify discrepancies, cost overruns, or billing issues
• Coordinate with project managers and field teams regarding financial approvals and project accounting status
• Ensure all expenses are properly categorized, documented, and entered into accounting systems
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for management and project stakeholders
• Assist with lien waivers, vendor compliance documentation, subcontractor payments, and payment tracking
• Support month-end closing, job costing, and project profitability reporting
• Experience using AI tools, construction software, workflow automation platforms, or process-improvement technologies is a strong plus.
• Maintain organized digital and physical accounting records for all active projects

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
