Job Description

We have an outstanding Contract position for aSynthetic Chemistto join a leading Company located in theUpper Providence, PAsurrounding area.

We are seeking two experienced Synthetic Chemistry professionals based in the United States to support the Predictive Synthesis chemistry team. The selected personnel will deliver nano-scale chemistry experiments, high-throughput data generation , data analysis, and electronic lab notebook (ELN) documentation following established workflows. The engagement targets a minimum output of 3,000 data points per week per resource, contributing to a total of at least 12,000 data points weekly across the full team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute nano-scale high-throughput synthetic chemistry experiments following established Predictive Synthesis workflows
  • Generate a minimum of 3,000 data points per week by executing two 1536-well plates
  • Order building blocks and reagents required for experiments
  • Document all experiments in electronic lab notebooks (ELN) according to our ELN rules and Predictive Synthesis workflow training
  • Prepare analysis plates and submit for data analysis
  • Analyze data and close ELN experiments within 3 working days of receiving final LCMS results
  • Operate laboratory automation equipment, including Mosquito, Bravo, and Tecan
  • Adhere to Risk Assessments and safety standards, including chemical waste management protocols
  • Participate in monthly check-in review meetings and bi-weekly cadence meetings
  • Provide status reports on progress against standardized timelines
  • Collaborate with the Predictive Synthesis chemistry team to ensure quality and timely delivery

Basic Hiring Criteria :

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in synthetic chemistry with a focus on nanoscale and high-throughput experimentation
  • Experience must be from an academic or professional industrial setting
  • Proven track record of pro-activity and high productivity in a lab environment
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific data
  • A "very good degree" in Chemistry (equivalent to upper second-class honors or GPA 3.5+), demonstrating strong academic performance
  • Training on electronic lab notebooks (ELN), gloveboxes, and liquid handlers as part of onboarding into workflows

Desired Qualifications :

  • Master's degree (MSc) or PhD in Synthetic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Chemical Biology
  • Pro-activity & High Productivity: The role demands a consistent high output of 3,000+ data points weekly, with strict experiment closure timelines
  • Excellent Written Communication: Detailed and accurate ELN documentation is a core deliverable; compliance with ELN rules is mandatory
  • Excellent Oral Communication: Regular bi-weekly cadence calls and monthly review meetings with stakeholders require clear, professional communication
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex LCMS and chemistry data and translate findings into actionable experiment decisions
  • Attention to Detail: Experiments must be closed within 3 working days of LCMS results; accuracy in data entry and documentation is critical
  • Highly Organized: Managing concurrent experiments, reagent ordering, plate preparation, and ELN write-ups simultaneously
  • Team Collaboration: Works closely with the Predictive Synthesis team; a strong team player mentality is explicitly required
  • Adaptability: Must follow established workflows precisely while managing high experimental volumes in a fast-paced environment
  • Accountability: Stakeholder sign-off required per experiment; personal ownership of quality and data integrity is essential
