Job Description

We have an outstanding Contract position for an Instructional Designer to join a leading Company located in the Laurel, MD surrounding area.

We are seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to design and develop effective learning solutions to support the new hire onboarding materials aligned to the work of the company. As a core team member, you will collaborate to develop and implement a project plan that follows the ADDIE model of instructional design to complete the effort.

Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop learning resources to support new hire onboarding, maximizing instructional design processes, and using cutting-edge tools for learning.

You will design, develop, and implement effective assessment and evaluation tools to identify gaps, demonstrate individual results, and support incremental improvements across the program resources.

You will be a lifelong learner and stay well-informed of adult learning theory, industry best practices, and tools to advance the solutions provided.

Possess a Bachelor's degree in Adult Learning, Leadership Development, Organization Development, Psychology, Human Systems, Instructional Systems Design (or related degree), or equivalent years of professional experience.

Have a minimum of 8 years experience in needs assessment, curriculum design and development, program evaluation methodologies, and eLearning or web-based resource development.

Demonstrate competency in Articulate Storyline and/or Rise, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, etc.), Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, VR/AR tools, immersive training technologies, and/or have coding experience.

Are articulate, in both verbal and written form, with excellent organization, administrative, and computer skills.

Demonstrate the ability to follow the ADDIE model (or equivalent) and to apply adult learning theory (andragogy).

Are able to successfully work independently or across teams on multiple projects with overlapping time frames and shifting priorities.

Demonstrate superior customer service skills and the ability to overcome obstacles to reach a resolution.

Possess a Master's degree in a related field (Training and Development, Instructional Technology, etc.).

Have experience in developing learning materials that are 508 accessible.

Have instructional design, instructor, or other certifications related to the field.

Have experience building out and managing training courses, records, and reporting in a learning management system, specifically Saba.
