Job Description

Tackpoint is seeking a driven and technically capable Technical Sales Account Manager to manage and grow an established customer base while identifying opportunities to expand product adoption and, where possible, bring in new customers. This role is heavily focused on existing accounts, with a strong emphasis on technical understanding, relationship management, and long-term growth.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers in directional drilling, rotary steerable tools, and rotating liner hanger systems, supporting applications related to custom bearing systems and precision mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow new and existing customer accounts, with a primary focus on expanding current business related to custom bearing systems.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building long-term, trusted customer relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to increase product usage, introduce new applications, and support customer growth initiatives, while assisting with new customer development when opportunities arise.
  • Promote Tackpoint’s engineering, manufacturing, and technical capabilities to both existing and prospective customers, and lead new application discussions for precision mechanical components and systems.
  • Provide regular project and delivery updates to customers and internal teams and coordinate in-person or virtual meetings to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, customer challenges, and emerging needs.
  • Utilize customer portals to monitor open orders and ensure all specifications and requirements are accurately reviewed and met.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge are required.
  • Experience with the fundamentals of downhole drilling tools is strongly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working across technical, manufacturing, and customer-facing functions.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Based in Edmonton, with regular local travel to Calgary and limited international travel to the United States.
  • Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and willing to consent to a security assessment to meet Controlled Goods Program requirements.
