Job Title: Legal Executive – Media & Entertainment (IPR Focus)Location: Kolkata (with frequent travel across East India)Job Type: On-siteExperience: 1-2 yearsRole:We are seeking a dynamic Legal Executive with 1–2 years of experience in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), rights acquisition, and media & entertainment law. The role involves supporting legal operations related to content rights, licensing, and compliance within the media and entertainment ecosystem.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in rights acquisition processes, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements for content licensing and distribution.Support legal advisory on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) including copyright, trademarks, and related laws.Draft, review, and vet contracts such as licensing agreements, artist agreements, production agreements, and NDAs.Conduct legal due diligence for content acquisition and partnerships.Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies within the media & entertainment domain.Coordinate with internal teams (content, production, business) to address legal requirements.Maintain documentation and records of agreements and legal correspondences.Monitor and flag potential IP infringements or legal risks.Must-Have Skills & QualificationsEducation: LLB / LLM from a recognized institution.Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience in legal roles, preferably in media & entertainment.Robust understanding of IPR laws, especially copyright and licensing frameworks.Hands-on experience in rights acquisition and content-related agreements.Familiarity with the media and entertainment industry ecosystem (digital, TV, film, OTT platforms).Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.Preferred Skills (Good to Have)Exposure to digital content platforms or OTT services.Understanding of international content licensing frameworks.Prior experience working with production houses, studios, or broadcasters.
