Job Summary The Solar Installation, Maintenance & Layout Planning Technician is responsible for site survey, system layout planning, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems. The role requires both field execution skills and basic design/planning capability.

Key Responsibilities 1. Site Survey & Layout Planning (NEW – Important Role Upgrade)

\n

\n

• Conduct site surveys (rooftop / ground-mounted projects)

\n

• Measure site dimensions, orientation, shadow analysis

\n

• Prepare basic solar layout plans (panel placement, tilt, spacing)

\n

• Optimize panel positioning for maximum generation

\n

• Assist in capacity calculation (kW sizing)

\n

• Coordinate with design team for final drawings

\n

\n\n

1. Installation

\n

\n\n

• Install solar PV modules, mounting structures

\n

• Perform DC & AC wiring, inverter connections

\n

• Install DCDB, ACDB, earthing systems

\n

• Ensure layout is executed as per approved design

\n

\n\n

1. Testing & Commissioning

\n

\n\n

• Conduct system testing and commissioning

\n

• Verify inverter functionality and generation output

\n

• Ensure compliance with electrical standards

\n

\n\n

1. Maintenance (O&M;)

\n

\n\n

• Preventive and corrective maintenance

\n

• Cleaning, inspection, and system performance checks

\n

• Fault detection and repair

\n

\n\n

1. Troubleshooting

\n

\n\n

• Diagnose issues in panels, wiring, inverters

\n

• Rectify faults efficiently with minimal downtime

\n

\n\n

1. Safety & Documentation

\n

\n\n

• Follow all electrical and site safety norms

\n

• Maintain installation reports and site records

\n

• Use PPE and ensure secure work practices

\n

\nSkills Required\n

\n

• Solar PV system knowledge (rooftop & ground mount)

\n

• Ability to plan panel layout & system sizing

\n

• Basic understanding of AutoCAD / layout drawing (preferred)

\n

• Knowledge of DC/AC electrical systems

\n

• Ability to read and interpret solar drawings

\n

• Strong troubleshooting skills

\n

\nQualification\n\n

• ITI / Diploma / B.Tech (Electrical preferred)

\n

• Solar certification (added advantage)

\n

• Experience:

\n

• Fresher (with training in solar design)

\n

• 1–4 years preferred

\n

\nTools & Software Knowledge\n\n

• Measuring tools (tape, laser meter)

\n

• Electrical tools (multimeter, clamp meter)

\n

• Basic software:

\n

• AutoCAD (preferred)

\n

• Excel (for load calculation)

\n
