Sunstates Security is hiring Full-Time Unarmed Security Officer in the Alexandria, VA area. Primary openings Thursday-Sunday is available! These positions offer a pay rate of $20.89/hr - with weekly pay.

Job Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

Security Officers will be expected to:

• Provide professional security support at a busy distribution and logistics facility in Alexandria, VA.
• Control access for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors entering and exiting the facility.
• Monitor truck traffic, shipping and receiving activity, and delivery operations.
• Conduct vehicle inspections, credential verification, and gatehouse operations in accordance with site procedures.
• Perform routine patrols of warehouse, distribution, parking, and perimeter areas.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and security concerns while following established escalation procedures.
• Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, truck logs, visitor logs, and other required documentation.
• Maintain a visible security presence to promote a safe and secure work environment.
• Follow all client-specific post orders, safety requirements, and Sunstates Security standards.
• Communicate effectively with client management, drivers, employees, emergency responders, and Sunstates leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be able to work in Alexandria, VA.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Must possess strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be comfortable working in an active warehouse and logistics environment.
• Must be able to complete detailed reports and documentation accurately.
• Must be able to work days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
• Prior security, military, law enforcement, warehouse, logistics, transportation, dispatch, or customer service experience preferred.
• Virginia DCJS Registration preferred or ability to obtain and maintain required credentials.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience working in distribution centers, warehouses, logistics facilities, truck gates, or industrial environments.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures.
• Experience with access control, visitor management, and vehicle inspections.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accountability.
• Sound judgment and decision-making abilities during incidents and emergencies.
• Flexibility to support additional shifts when operational needs arise.
• Reliable transportation to Alexandria, VA.

Schedule / Coverage Needs

This account operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

We are currently seeking candidates with availability for:

• Thursday-Sunday - 4 PM - 12 AM + 12 AM - 8 AM
• Holiday Coverage

This position is ideal for individuals seeking a professional security role supporting a fast-paced logistics and distribution operation while gaining experience in access control, transportation security, gate operations, and facility security.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
