Job Description

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Junior Field Services Technician based in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Supervisor, Technical Field Services, the successful candidate will perform Medium Voltage Energy Isolation and Maintenance while delivering exceptional client experiences through the commissioning, repair, and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment.

  • Perform equipment upgrades, maintenance, testing, and commissioning for commercial, industrial, and utility clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through on-site interactions.
  • Identify service opportunities and communicate them to Managers.
  • Ensure all required equipment and materials are sourced and available for project execution.
  • Perform hands-on field work as required.
  • Provide project status updates to the Manager.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding milestones, costs, risks, and opportunities.
  • Escalate issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensure site quality, conduct document reviews, and follow up on deficiencies.
  • Confirm all work is completed in alignment with project scope.
  • Participate in project execution reviews with the Manager.
  • Conduct technical reviews and produce detailed reports.
  • Support the invoicing process by ensuring that all applicable billable activities are captured and communicated.
  • Conduct follow-up communications with clients as needed.
  • Provide feedback to Managers on project performance and employee effectiveness on site.
  • Participate actively in safety meetings.
  • Experience as an Electrical Technologist, Field Technician, Power System Electrician, or Electrical Engineer (preferred, not required)
  • Hands-on field experience commissioning, testing, or maintaining power delivery equipment, including breakers, switchgear, relays, and transformers
  • Broad knowledge of commercial, industrial, and utility environments
  • Trade or technical school certification required
  • Electrical Engineering degree, PSE, CET, or NETA certification considered an asset
  • Demonstrated experience leading productive and engaged project teams
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong initiative and ability to self-manage with a client-focused approach
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently
  • Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic work environment
  • Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Team-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive, proactive “can-do” attitude
