Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Med/Surg Telemetry experience to provide essential patient care in a dynamic hospital setting in Washington, DC. This contract role requires dedication to delivering competent and compassionate nursing care to patients across the lifespan, ensuring their varied needs are met through thorough assessment and skilled intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, including admission assessments within established timeframes.
- Deliver patient-centered care aligned with growth and developmental stages.
- Utilize clinical judgment to determine nursing needs and implement appropriate care plans.
- Document patient information accurately and timely, reflecting assessments and care provided.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain competencies in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current, active RN license to practice in Washington, DC.
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience.
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
- BSN highly desired.
- Proficient with Cerner electronic health record system.
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility.
- Required certifications: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS.
Schedule:
- Three 12-hour night shifts in department 6207.
