We are looking for a collaborative Student, DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps, Operations team. For a journey this exciting and complex, we are looking for an energetic person with a strong appetite for learning and a commitment to teamwork. In this role, you will work together with experienced software engineers, SREs, architects, and our key stakeholders to implement solutions for Security in the DevSevOps platform. You will learn our sysadmin best practice, to deliver a secure coding environment and continuously grow your technical knowledge, communication skills, and leadership skills.

We operate in a world where time-to-market and evolving business priorities drive our plans. The incumbent will need to be resilient, a strong team member and equally effective in communicating and adapting to change as they champion secure platforms and alignment with technical strategies.

What will you do?

  • Partner with DevOps engineers to enhance our overall security capabilities
  • Work on all aspects of our SDLC to deliver said enhancements to production
  • Document how these enhancements affect users, feeding our chatbot knowledgebase
  • Demonstrate strong ownership of technical work
  • Create/update team artifacts and deliver value to the client

What you will need to succeed?

  • This opportunity is available to students with a August 2026 or later graduation date

  • Keen appetite for learning relevant technologies and for continuous self-improvement
  • Ideally, we’ll also get somebody with one or more of the following:
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Keen appetite for learning relevant technologies and for continuous self-improvement
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Familiarity with Enterprise DevOps tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jenkins)
  • Experience with multiple OS and admin (Linux, Windows, Kubernetes)

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
