Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Security and Cable Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex security systems, CCTV, telecommunication networks, and low voltage wiring across various client sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction, electrical work, and computer hardware, with the ability to read schematics and blueprints accurately.

The successful candidate will supervise a team of technicians to ensure industry standards are maintained, milestones and project goals are achieved.

Duties

• Install, configure, and service security systems including the wiring and isntallation of Card Readers, Wiring of Controllers and panels, IDS, sensors, CCTV cameras, and alarm components.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation of systems.
• Perform wiring and cabling for low voltage systems, telecommunication lines, and power supplies using hand tools and power tools.
• Knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a and Fibre Optic Cabling.
• Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to diagnose issues with security devices, networking equipment, and electrical components.
• Collaborate with construction teams during site development to ensure seamless integration of security infrastructure.
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, installation procedures, and maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and maintenance procedures.
• Adhere to safety protocols related to electrical work, mechanical installations, and working at heights or confined spaces.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in security system installation or maintenance with a focus on CCTV, IDS, sensors, or telecommunication systems.
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction plans.
• Proficiency with computer hardware setup and network configuration including computer networking fundamentals.
• Electrical experience with low voltage wiring, power tools usage, and electrical safety standards.
• Mechanical knowledge for installing sensors or mechanical components within security systems.
• Familiarity with schematics related to security systems and telecommunication wiring.
• Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers as well as power tools safely.
• Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors integration, and low voltage electrical systems is critical.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues efficiently.
• Responsible for updating management on the status of all work performed on a daily basis.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 systems is required
• Ability to complete daily paperwork

Pay: $26.00-$34.00 per hour
