Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator

Company: Emergency Lightning Supplies (E.L.S is a part of the Steel Family holdings)

• Pay Rate at $21/hr to start
• 40 hour a week - 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Location: 515 Milner Ave, Scarborough, ON M1B 2K4
• Must have experience operating forklift, especially Crown forklift truck.
• Must be comfortable interacting with customers at the pick up counter and process payments.
• Must be comfortable with the physical aspects of the role such as lifting, bending, twisting, moving, loading skids etc.
• New Role (Applications open until April 26th, 2026.
• Temporary to Permanent (Starting as a temporary role, may be converted into permanent depending on performance and other factors)

What you’ll be responsible for Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Operations

• Pick, pack, and prepare orders with a high level of accuracy
• Coordinate shipments using couriers such as Purolator, UPS, Canpar, and others
• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents, and organize inventory in designated locations
• Operate equipment including an electric walkie and forklift (crown truck) safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
• Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs as required

Order Processing & Administration

• Enter customer orders accurately into the system
• Verify pricing, quantities, and customer details before processing
• Support the full order lifecycle from intake to fulfillment and shipping
• Complete administrative tasks related to orders, shipping, and inventory

Customer Service & Parts Counter Support

• Serve walk-in customers at the parts counter with professionalism and confidence
• Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products
• Process transactions including COD payments using debit and credit machines
• Set up new customer accounts and support existing customers with order placement
• Ensure every customer leaves with clear next steps and a positive experience

Communication & Coordination

• Answer incoming calls and respond to customer emails in a timely and professional manner
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure order accuracy and timely fulfillment
• Coordinate with couriers to manage pickups and shipping timelines

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse environment is preferred
• Forklift experience and valid license required, especially Crown forklift truck
• Comfortable operating an electric walkie
• Strong customer service skills and confidence interacting at a parts counter
• Ability to work in a hybrid role combining physical warehouse work and customer interaction
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Computer literate with the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Clear and professional communication skills in English
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to step in wherever needed
