LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH/Office of Preparedness and Response, Baltimore, Maryland\r\n
Main Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for ensuring that Maryland's public health and health care systems prepare for, mitigate against, respond to, and recover from adverse impacts, resulting from controlled dangerous substance prescriber investigations and/or drug-related outbreak investigation activities.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling, or a related field. \r\nExperience: Six years professional experience in health services, three of which must have been in professional, clinical or administrative services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Addictions, and three of which must have been at the managerial or supervisory level. \r\nNotes: 1. Applicants may substitute a Master’s or Doctoral degree in a health or human services field, for up to two years of the required general experience. \r\n2. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field, plus an additional year of professional experience in health services, may be substituted for the specific degree. \r\n3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Health Services Administration specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis, for the required experience and education.\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should have familiarity with, and interest in, working to address the Opioid epidemic. He/she should also have experience or education in public health emergency preparedness and response. \r\nIn addition, the desired candidate should possess experience in partner coordination and program administration. Finally, the desired candidate should have familiarity with summarizing planning and response activities, as well as policy analysis and recommendations into reports, presentations and/or policy proposals. \r\n
