Job Description
Most video editing roles are about cutting clips and adding effects. This isn’t one of them.
We’re looking for a skilled freelance video editor who understands how to turn raw footage into clear, engaging, professional B2B stories — the kind that build trust, communicate complex ideas, and actually move buyers forward.
If your background is primarily TikTok-style edits, gaming videos, or heavy effects-driven content, this likely won’t be the right fit.
If you enjoy crafting thoughtful, polished, business-focused content, keep reading
About the Work
We produce video content for B2B tech companies, including:
- Customer case studies
- Thought leadership videos
- Product demos (problem/solution focused)
- Interview-driven storytelling
- Short-form clips (LinkedIn / YouTube Shorts) derived from long-form content
The work requires a balance of:
- clarity + creativity
- professional polish + subtle engagement
- structure + storytelling instincts
Technical Requirements
You should be comfortable working within a professional post-production workflow:
- Adobe Premiere Pro (primary editing platform)
- Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, etc.)
- DaVinci Resolve (bonus, especially for color)
- Experience with AI-assisted tools (e.g., Descript) for transcription, adjustments, or workflow acceleration
Creative Requirements
We’re looking for someone who can go beyond “just editing”:
- Strong storytelling instincts (especially with interview/talking-head content)
- Ability to make intentional editing decisions (not just stylistic choices)
- Clean, professional color correction and grading
- High-quality audio cleanup, mixing, and music selection/timing
- Motion graphics and text animation (both custom and plugin-based)
- Awareness of current trends — but able to apply them appropriately in a B2B context
- Ability to repurpose long-form content into short-form clips that still feel intentional and on-brand
Collaboration & Workflow
You’ll be working as part of a small, focused production workflow.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is reliable and organized with files, timelines, and revisions
- Can collaborate within existing workflows (Premiere-based projects, shared assets, etc.)
- Is open to suggesting improvements to editing or production workflows
- Can take direction — but also bring creative initiative and ideas to the edit
Important Context
- This is B2B video marketing — not B2C or influencer content
- The tone is mature, insightful, conversational, and polished
- Edits should feel intentional and on-brand, not over-edited or distracting
- We value editors who can elevate an idea, not just execute instructions
Role Details
· Contract / freelance (project-to-project to start)
· Remote (Canada-based only)
· Typical project rate: ~$500 CAD per video (may vary depending on scope and complexity)
· Potential for ongoing work and possibly part-time or full-time as things grow
How to Apply
Please include
- A list of companies you have worked with
- 3–5 relevant video samples (preferably B2B, corporate, or interview-driven work)
- A short note on:
- Your role in each project
- What you focused on creatively (story, pacing, motion, etc.)
We’re not looking for the cheapest editor — we’re looking for the right editor.
Someone who takes pride in their work, thinks about the why behind edits, and wants to grow into a long-term creative partner.
